I had Nancy and her friend Ron out today in some windy but warm conditions. It was really a beautiful day on the water. Nancy was out on her last charter before heading home to Pennsylvania today and just like every trip she's taken with me this year she caught some really nice fish. Black drum was the fish o' the day today and Nancy and Ron ended up landing quite a few. The highlight of the day was actually a fish Nancy hooked and didn't catch. She fought a monster fish... the drag was really zinging and after a give and take battle the fish was near the boat when all of sudden Nancy says... "oh no, it got off". But then she reeled tight and there was something still on the line. A tiny 10" bluefish comes over the gunnel. What the heck just happened? The big fish (most likely a monster black drum) let go and a small bluefish grabbed the hook just before it left the water. We all laughed and decided it would make a great fish story.
