IFA Professional Redfish Tour, Stop 1 Jacksonville February 16th...

After a long couple of days at the Miami Boat Show I headed home to make it to the IFA tourney just in time. This year I've partnered up with Capt. Chris Herrera to fish the tournament trail. Chris and I were tourney partners back in the day and it was a blast getting back out there with him. In a field of over 100 boats we ended up in 7th place at the end fo the day. IT was good enough for a nice check. I can't wait for stop two in Titusville in April...

St. Augustine / Palm Coast Fishing Report December 17th...

 What a pretty day on the water!.. This morning I had the Honeycutts out for a half day of fishing in St. Augustine. It was a chilly seat but oh so nice with the sun shinning and light wind. We got up really shallow today and found some really hungry redfish. I'm loving this winter time fishing right now!

St. Augustine / Palm Coast Fishing Report August 2nd...

 Another great day of fishing in St. Augustine! This morning I had Kyle, Kirra, Logan, and Xavier out for a half day charter. The fishing has been slow the last couple days after all the rain we've benn getting in the afternoons. It picked up little today as they caught quite a few fish. Kirra caught a HUGE trout and Kyle had a similar one that shook the hook right at the boat. Fun day guys!

 Another great day of fishing in St. Augustine!.. This morning I had repeat client along with Jerry out for a half day charter. The weather was AWESOME today!!! Some nice cloud cover and a little breeze made it very comfortable to be on the water. The guys caught some nice redfish this morning. Davis got one oversize fish that put up one heck of a fight on the light tackle they were using. Fun day fellas!

St. Augustine / Palm Coast Fishing Report June 25th..

 Another great day of fishing in St. Augustine!.. This morning I had long-time clients Patty, Tom, James, and Tommy out for a nearshore charter. The target today was a big tarpon... we found some big ones too! Tom hooked into a monster and it put on quite an arial display before breaking off. The rest of the morning the family hooked into quite a few big sharks but we just couldn't get another tarpon to chew. Fun day as always guys!

Another great day of fishing in St. Augustine!.. This morning I had repeat clients Fred, Bob, and Tom out for a half day charter. The weather was once again perfect... the fishing... not so much... we went in search of tarpon first and saw a few but had no hookups. We then went after some flounder and the guys got one good one. We ended the day with a few mixed fish including one nice upper slot redfish. Always a fun time fellas!

IFA Redfish Tour win video...

IFA Redfish Tour WIN!!!!! March 17th

 Wow!!!! What an awesome day of fishing in St. Augustine!.. This morning my partner Capt. Gib and I competed in the IFA Redfish Trout event out of Jacksonville. It's probably the biggest "Pro" event held in NE Florida. We ended up winning the event with two redfish weighing in at just under 14 pounds. We couldn't;t be more happy or excited to bring home the win... we made a 50+ mile run each way to catch our fish and just had a blast doing it! Thanks to everyone from the tour and to all our awesome sponsors...  What an awesome day of fishing in St. Augustine!.. This morning I took my good buddy Gib from www.theangryseas.com out for a day of fishing. We went on the hunt for some snook and tarpon and we weren't disappointed... Gib caught some nice snook and jumped a few tarpon a well. With all the freshwater we still have in the area the snook seem to be really fired up. With the hint of cooler weather we're experiencing you've got to get out there.... it's perfect!

 What a beautiful day on the water!.. This morning I had long time client George along with Bill out for a half day of fishing in St. Augustine. The weather was perfect with just a slight cool breeze and plenty of sunshine. The guys caught some nice redfish today and we had quite a few fish that just didn't commit or just came off the hook as well. Always a pleasure fellas!

Fishing Report July 16th-21st...

 What an awesome week!!! I spent this week down in Miami and the Keys hanging out with Capt. Rick Murphy and crew from the Sportsman Adventures TV Show. (http://sportsmansadventures.com) We filmed an episode with Rick guiding me in Key Largo and we caught some bonefish, tarpon, snook, and more! I was also in the studio for the Chevy Florida Insider Fishing Report (http://chevyfloridainsiderfishingreport.com). I'm usually doing my fishing reports for the show from my house via FaceTime but it was great to be live in the studio. Everyone was so nice and Rick and his family took great care of me so thank you guys so much for that! What an awesome fishery they have down there but... I'm looking forward to being back on the water in St. augustine and Palm Coast this week... reports to follow!

 What a beautiful day on the water!.. This morning I had repeat clients Davis and Coventry out for a day of fishing in St. Augustine. We started off by searching the beach looking for something big but didn't come up with much as the water was pretty murky from the rain and wind we've had the last few days. We made a move inshore and found quite a few redfish to play with. Coventry got the big fish of the day with a fat 26" fish that put up a great fight. Really fun day guys!

St. Augustine Fishing Report May 12th...

Wow!... What a day of fishing! (Apologies for the late report as the server was down last night). This morning I had Hugh and Lou out for a half day charter. We started by tossing some top-water plugs and some popping corks looking for redfish. Hugh was the first to strike with a nice upper slot redfish. We then moved around to a few different spots catching some nice trout and was as a few more reds. Our last stop of the day produced some really nice reds. Hugh had the big one of the day that was right around 10lbs! Great day guys...

This afternoon I had Jeff, Kathy, and Lindsay out for a half day trp. Things started out a little slow but once we got up in the shallow stuff Kathy caught a nice flounder. After another quick move on the flat Lindsay caught a nice upper slot redfish. We had a few big ones break us off in the oysters and I think Kathy got another redfish as well. Great afternoon guys... Lindsay you should go into radio : )... great voice!

St. Augustine Mother's Day Fishing Report May 8th...

What a great day... the weather was absolutely perfect! I had my Mom and Brother out today for a Mother's Day on the water. I can't remember the last time just the three of us hung out. The plan was to do some cobia fishing so we hit the beach. We did hook into one monster cobia but he came unbuttoned before getting to the boat. The wind picked pretty quick so we decided to go back inshore. We ended up finding some nice trout using some live shrimp under a cork. That was really a fun day!... Happy Mother's Day Mom!

St. Augustine Fishing Report March 2nd...

Another great day of fishing in St. Augustine... Today I had Dave and Lynn out for a half day charter. The fishing conditions were really tough today... the wind was absolutely howling out of the Northeast but we still were able to put some nice fish in the boat. They each caught a quite a few redfish and Lynn got a nice black drum as well as a sea trout. The water temps are quickly on the rise so watch out for some bigger trout to be showing up real soon. I had a blast with you guys today!

St. Augustine Fishing Report October 10th...

Wow!.. what an absolutely beautiful day on the water!... This morning I had Dallas and his dad David on the boat. We started by tossing some top-water plugs along a shoreline to some waking redfish. We only got a few strikes but in the distance we saw a cork floating around and when we got closer we could see hat something was attached to it. When we got in range Dallas made the perfect cast and hook the float and landed the 5lb redfish attached to the other end of it (There's more than one way to catch a red : )). Once the sun came up we headed offshore and got into some monster sharks behind the shrimp boats. We ended up coming inshore and catching a few more nice reds on Fishbites paddle tails on Slayer Inc. hooks and some cut bait. Great day on the water guys!

2010 IFA Redfish Tour Fernandina Beach Report, October 9th...

This past weekend I had the pleasure of fishing the Fernandina IFA Redfish Tour with my year long partner Danny. We had one day to pre-fish (Friday) and we found some really nice redfish. Danny sight-fished a few upper to over slot fish with a Fishbites jerkbait on a Slayer Inc. hook. We competed on Saturday and took 8th place weighing in 12.01lbs with our two fish. This was the last event of the season and with the points all tallied up we ended up tied for 1st place (Division Champions) in the season long points race! Congrats to Danny for a great year of fishing... I had a great time and can't wait to fish with you again.
