St. Augustine Fishing Report June 23rd...

Another great morning on the water today!... I had Phil and his son Chris out for a morning of tossing top-water plugs for redfish. We were fishing the high tide along some grass edges and found some really nice redfish that wanted to play. Most of the fish were big upper slotters including one that Phil caught that was right at 27"! There's nothing like watching a big redfish inhale a top-water. Phil's big fish gave him a run for his money first screaming the drag then taking him up into the grass. I poled the boat up in the grass until we got him loose and then finally he ended up in the net. Once the sun got high we switched to live mud minnows on Slayer Inc. jigheads and caught a few more reds. Chris got one really cool looking fish with 26 spots on it. That was a fun morning guys!
