St. Augustine Fishing Report June 30th...

What an awesome day of fishing!... Today I had Joe and his son, Joe Jr., on the boat. We started off tossing top-waters for redfish up in the shallows. Joe Jr. caught a nice slot redfish right off the bat on a Heddon Super Spook Jr. top-water. We could see the redfish swimming around the boat and since they seemed a little too spooky to hit the top-waters we switched to some live mud minnows. Joe got a lunker redfish right at the top of the slot on the mud minnow on the first cast and then another slot fish a few minutes later. We decided to switch it up and go look for something bigger... and we found it. We found some nice sized tarpon but none of them wanted to play so we headed off the beach in search of something else. We found a bunch of huge sharks that were as hungry as they could be. Both Joe and Joe Jr. hooked into some spinner sharks pushing the 100lb mark. Talk about some line screaming action. Nice fishing fellas!
