St. Augustine Fishing Report July 1st & 2nd...

Happy 4th of July Weekend (Stay safe on the water)!

What an awesome morning it turned out to be today... The weather man was calling for rain but instead we had nice cool overcast conditions... perfect for fishing! Today I had Tom and his wife Patty along with their two sons Tommy and James out for a morning of hunting for some redfish. The rain we got last night had the fish fired up first thing. We caught quite a few nice slot and upper slot redfish using live mud minnows. Once the tide got right we went up ino the shallows where we hooked a few more nice redfish and one big shark that absolutely ripped some line off Tommy's reel before breaking him off on an oyster bar. At our last stop we picked up a few nice black drum and a nice sized sheepshead. Great fishing guys!

Yesterday I had Paul, Jake, and Matt out for a morning of fishing. We had redfish swimming all around the boat up in the shallows this day and Paul got a nice one to eat a live mud minnow. The fish were waking all over the place but they were acting really spooky... We decided to run to a little bit deeper spot and Jake got a nice keeper redfish. We went back up on the flats to end the day and tossed the Sebile Stick Shadd for awhile. We had a few nice redfish eat the lure only to have them come unbuttoned (amazing that happens sometimes when using a lure with a bunch of treble hooks). I had a great time with guys!
