St. Augustine Fishing Report July 14th...

What a great day on the water!... (I ran two trips today). This morning I had Gary, his son Ethan, and Ethan's friend Brenden on the boat. The day started when on the first cast Gary hooks up to a nice upper slot redfish on a live mud minnow. Then both Ethan and Brenden caught a few smaller reds. Once the tide got right we moved up into the shallows and Ethan caught a nice upper slot red. We then headed off the beach to look for some tarpon and sharks. We found both feeding on pogies but couldn't get the tarpon to play but they all hooked some big sharks including one monster lemon shark that Brenden fought to the boat. Fun day guys!

This afternoon I had Gary and his son Steve as well as Steve's Father in law phil on the boat for an afternoon of chasing some redfish. Phil has a phenomenal start catching 3 redfish on his first 3 casts! At our first spot we caught about 10 reds... some big and some small. Phil got one that was a perfect 27"er. We also hooked a few MONSTERS that broke us off on the oyster bar. If anyone sees a white and orange popping cork with a big red attached let me know. We went up into the shallows to end the day and Greg got a nice upper slot redfish on a "shrimp bomb". Good catching guys!
